Summer Book Talk Begins Tomorrow
Don’t forget VSTE in SL meetings during the summer! If you haven’t been able to participate as much as you wanted to during the school year, now is your chance to come back and get reacclimated to Second Life.
This Monday, July 9th at 8 PM Eastern Daylight Time, we kick off our summer book talk on Jane McGonigal’s “Reality is Broken: Why Games Make Us Better and How They Can Change the World.” We haven’t started yet and already there is a lively discussion going on in the ning group set aside for this. You do not have to have read any of the book for this kick off. We will meet three more times, every two weeks to discuss this book and the value of using gaming in the classroom.
Won’t you join us?

Hi. Sounds wonderful. I’ll actually be on the road doing some staff training at this time, so making this first session will be challenging. Is there a link though to a downloadable copy of this book? I am familiar with the book, author, and the topic, but would like to be prepared to participate more fully in the weeks to come. Also, a SLURL? The Ning address? Thanks. : )

The book is available at Amazon as a download for your Kindle or free Kindle app. It would be nice if you could use the VSTE Amazon link to get it here http://vste.org/.
The VSTE Ning “Reality is Broken” link is http://vsteonline.ning.com/group/gaming.
VSTE Island can be found at http://slurl.com/secondlife/VSTE%20Island/125/137/24.
Thank you for asking. Hope to see you there.
