Our Classroom Constitution

Our Classroom Constitution

Constitution Day and Citizenship Day is a combined event that occurs in the United States on September 17 each year. On this day US citizens remember the blessings of liberty and are recognized for holding the responsibilities of citizenship.  The students in Mrs. Wright-Owens’ and Mrs. Birdwell’s classes brainstormed and agreed upon a Classroom Constitution.  Each student will sign it and the poster will be on display as a reminder of upholding the responsibility of citizenship here in school and in our amazing country.  We celebrate the  importance of this document and those who work hard to protect its meaning.

We would love to hear from you.  Please post a comment.  Approved comments will appear in 24-48 hours.

Schools are closed on Monday, January 21st to recognize Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Our S.W.A.T. Team (Students Working Along Technology) created a podcast about their dreams for the world inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King’s famous speech.  We are also posting the full speech and an excerpt of the speech that we found at http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/special/mlk/king/speeches.html  .
