I hope everyone enjoys that extra hour of sleep this weekend as we turn our clocks back! I am enjoying sharing your collaborative time, and I appreciate all of the planning and collaborating you are doing. Comments have been made about how excited you are about getting so much done while not having to stay after school…thanks for all you do! Specialists are expressing excitement as well about the time they have with your students to do some very important work using language arts as a foundation…enjoy your weekend.

Although the weather is all over the place, I continue to see every teacher steadily moving forward each day with the students… I am thankful for every teacher’s diligence in making every lesson count, for collaboratively working with each other to form outstanding plans, and for coming to school each day with a smile! Enjoy the wonderful weather this weekend!

I am looking forward to tonight’s PTA Country Fair – we always have a full house and lots of fun! Thanks to all who are coming to volunteer some of their time. I have no idea how many walkers we have for tomorrow’s Diabetes Walk, but I will be there at 9:00 to welcome one and all! Have a great weekend…

This week is America’s Safe Schools Week along with School Bus Safety Week. I feel fortunate to have our school at a dead end of a public street. I think this keeps us just a little safer as traffic on our street is easier to monitor. Thanks to Samanatha Spencer for transitioning into the Three Oaks security assisistant position and doing an outstanding job! I also give kudos to our bus drivers – by the end of the day our students are ready to go home, and as they load the buses they are quite animated and loud. The bus drivers work hard to find balance between normal noise and total chaos, and I believe they do a very good job. Thanks to all of them for their dedication to the students…
Picture Day is tomorrow, and I always look forward to seeing everyone dressing up, both students and staff! Finally, our PTA Country Fair is Friday – this is the first time we will have tried it out on a Friday night. Here’s hoping the turn-out for the fair is just as fabulous on a Friday evening.
AND if you’re not too tired, think about joining some of us at the Walk for Diabetes on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. We will be gathering on 31st Street & Oceanfront to prepare to walk our mile for the cure!
